Several people have asked for an update on Max.
Max turned 91 on March 6 and is going strong in quarantine with his wife, Dorothy. They are both at home, staying as isolated from risk as possible. His kids are making regular visits, keeping them stocked with food and meds. And the neighbors keep a regular watch.
Max still draws avidly, although his style has radically changed. He loves music and a visit wouldn’t be complete without a few rounds of “Du, Du Liegst Mir Im Herzen” with anyone who knows the words. And believe me, by now, we all know the words. He’s lovable, cheerful, funny, and enjoying life. He is one of life’s special pleasures.
